Q. How long have you been doing the dental implants and on how many patients?
A. This clinic was established in 1970, by Dr. K. C Zinzuvadia. Dr Bimal Zinzuvadia his son, is with him since 1996. Initially they were doing select work because of the large expense to the patient but since the year 2002 yrs they are doing implant surgery regularly. They have placed more than 300 implants.
Q. What system do you use (equipment and techniques) for these implants?
A. Biohorizon implants, Fradent implants, Uniti implants, Easy plus implant system.
Q. Are the implants ever rejected by body? What material is the implant made of?
A. The Implant is made up of titanium, which is coated with bioexceptable material. Sometimes the implant may be rejected but you will know during the 1st phase of treatment before placing the prosthetic structure on the implant. Rejected implants can be treated by a reimplant. The percentage of rejection is very low as a strict sterilisation process is maintained.
Q. Will there be an anesthetist present or on stand-by during this procedure?
A. The implant procedure is a very safe and sound procedure which is done under local anesthesia. Here no anesthetist is required. Still, if you wish we can keep an anesthetist present at the time of your surgery. Before proceeding for the surgery we always recommend a blood test and full body checkup up if required.
Q. How much pain I will experience? Will there be any swelling or can things go wrong?
A. We will be doing surgery under local anesthesia so there will not be any pain during surgery. After surgery you may feel mild pain which will be taken care of with medicines. There may be swelling for 2 to 3 days depending on the bone condition. We always keep antibiotics and anti-inflammatory coverage so that the patient experiences very little inconvenience.
Q. How much time is required to have an implant procedure done?
A. One implant placement may take 20 min. to 30 min. Multiple implantation depends on the site. One site multiple implant placement may take one to one and a half hours.
Q. How long does a dental implant last? How do I properly maintain the implant after the treatment? Would I be able to eat comfortably?
A. The implant will last for 15 to 20 years. It also depends on the maintenance by the patient. Proper oral hygiene and regular dental check ups are a must.
